ATL skills

Information Literacy- I have used information literacy skill to apply in my research on a topic that I am doing the scratch video about. Using my research skills I have managed to complete this task after gaining new knowledge on this topic but also on scratch. At first, I had no idea how to use this scratch so I looked on other people's work on the scratch and then I started to understand about this project better. The thing that I struggled the most was writing the script. I asked many people many questions to make this project even better. I have experimented many sprites and backgrounds to find the most suitable on for my project.
communication- I think my presentation was not very good as I could not take off the white part of the sprite out. In addition to this I don't think I have managed to program well because I could not make the sprite move naturally. However, by creating this story, I think this video has managed to tell what the moral and what this video wants to tell the audience.

Reflection for my scratch video

My topic for my scratch video is about global warming and this video was targeted to children.

At first, when I started exploring the scratch, I had no idea how to write the script to control the sprite. However, advice from my friends, and the things we learn every lesson, it has helped me to create a scratch every lesson. At first, I didn't even know how to show and hide the sprite but I loved the feeling when I went out of this room, feeling much confident  with my skills than when I entered the class that same day. This really benefited me because I really like feeling the sense of accomplishment. In conclusion, I have enjoyed the whole process of making this video.

Things that I found difficult are uploading the images which are for background and for sprite. At first, I tried to upload them from internet but as the size and things turned out to be weird, I used other backgrounds instead. However, as I went on started to understand how to and I have managed to complete my video with many sports in them.

The part that I think has really worked was that the timings were good. The sentences were long enough to be read by the audiences and the seconds that I have decided was good enough from my view.

Things I would do differently next time is the background of the sprite. The white background looked quite bad. This is the things I would do differently.

Reflection for my storyboard

Reflection
I have chosen to do about the global warming because I know many effective pictures that can be helpful to convince the audiences. At the same time, I also have researched some ways we could put into action to protect the earth from getting heated. I also have planned in my notebooks (not school one) to finalise and find the best idea for my scratch videos. I have enjoyed the part where I did the final drawing because, as I had everything planned, all I had to do was to draw a better drawing and colour them in. Since I like colouring, I have enjoyed this part of my developing ideas. My difficulties where to think of the ways that are effective to the audiences to raise more awareness. Things that actually has worked really well was that  my time management skill was very helpful to plan everything out. I think I have managed to organise everything and also have managed to hand them in one time. If I had another chance to redo this whole process, I would show what sort of bad effects does the global warming has to show some sort of an information video to tell what is happening on this world. I would also choose a song for this video to keep my audiences interested in my video.

Technology and the UAE agenda

This post will be about the national agenda. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has launched National Agenda which is the UAE Vision 2021 which is the UAE’s 50th national day.  This is set to make UAE become the best country in the whole world and to make everything become top class.
The listed below are the national agenda.
·         Cohesive society and preserved identity
·         Safe public and fair judiciary
·         Competitive knowledge economy
·         First-rate education system
·         World class healthcare
·         Sustainable environment and infrastructure
I am going to be looking into how these agenda can relate to technology.

Safe public and fair judiciary
Although UAE is quite a safe place, there can be some improvements to this. To make UAE become safer place, technology can be used in many ways. Some examples are listed below.
·         Camera
·         GPS
·         Network systems to track illegal happenings
·         Data basis
Etc………

First-rate education system

This is all depending on us learners and students. Technology can help children and teachers contact anytime using internet like managebac. This will be easier for students to keep up with their work. This will be easier for students to keep up with their work. Having some kind of communication outside the school will help children to get the chance to get close with the teacher and at the same time to keep up with their work.

World class healthcare
A lot of technology will be needed over here. They can improve on the machines they are using to examine one’s body, or the system of whole entire hospital, or to go deeper with the medicine that they provide to the consumer. They also may develop the system for surgery to increase the chance to give higher chance of success even in difficult surgery.

The paragraphs written on above are the examples of how technology can be used to achieve the national agenda set for 2021.

Peer evaluation

Peer Evaluation on everyone's project:

Date: Tuesday 1st March 2016

Group 1: Mayukh, Omar, Daniel
They have created a voice control robot.
this project was about the robot being controlled through an app which is connected to the robot itself by bluetooth. I personally liked the part where they were being successful with their work. I think they can improve the presentation of the robot and explaining what they have used in detail as some of them were quite unusual material. I think this project can be in tech fair 2016 if these gets better.

Group 2: Yussuf, Amir, Mohammed
They have created a robot from a kit but added bluetooth so that the robot will listen to what the person is saying through an app. The part that I really liked was that they have managed to play music on their robot. I do push this robot to be in the tech fair 2016.

Group 3: Karim, Issa
Their project was hydraulic Arm Controlled with Sringes. I did not really understand their project. They kept on saying "If there was an arm, though we didn't put them.........."and haven't  explained about their actual project very much. I think they should have explained about the project in detail which I think is probably very important  for them. I do not recomment this project to be in the tech fair 2016.

Date; Sunday, 6th March 2016
Group 4; Nicoletta
Her project was holographic projection. I personally liked her project. Her project has been very successful and her explanation was good too. She also had a video which showed how it worked. I really liked her idea, I think it will be better if she speaks up more so then everyone can hear her. I do recommend her project to be in tech fair 2016.

Group 5; Alissa, Raushan
Their project was the video made from pawtoon. The topic was based on how social media can affect people's life. There are few improvements they could make; font size and color, they could add sounds to their video, etc. Also their voices were very small when they were presenting. They can also post this video onto youtube and make it to "public" so then people can access to their video easily and help the people. I do not really recommend their project to be in the tech fair 2016.

Group 6: Safa, Mille
Their project was a online game made from a website called "sploder" where they can create games online. They had 5 packs in each level and there were 5 levels in total. They said they took about 6 weeks to make them. The games were looking very entertaining. I liked the project but I do not recommend their project to be in the tech fair 2016.

Date: Tuesday 8th March 2016

Group 7: Karan, Kaisan, Abdulrahman
They made a crystal ball. I didn't really understand what their product are meant to be because they said the wires were broken and they couldn't bring it to school. They showed a demonstration video which showed how the product works but because this had no sound, I think they could have added the narration to get people understand better. However their pros and cons were very well explained. They were talking all at the same time which was hard for us audiences to understand what their product is all about. I do not recommend this product to be in the tech fair 2016.

Group 8: Anju, Noor
Their project is called 3D CD project. It basically looked like a dress which used CD (on the back side) so then it will look shiny. I did not really understand the part where they have used a technology in theirs. In their presentation, Anju had a nice and loud voice that everyone can understand what she was explaining us in the voice volume, but Noor's voice was quite small and was hard to listen as I was at the back. They have explained their process to making their project very well. They also had poster that explained about their project so I think this was good. Both power point and poster should have been in a bigger font so that everyone can see. I don't recommend this project to be in the tech fair 2016.

Group 9: Aya
Her project was called recycled simple tech operated car. Although her voice was small in explaining her project, she has managed to explain her ingredients very well in detail. She also used diagram to explain. She also had a video which I first thought that she has showed her knowledge but her video had no music, no narration, no pictures, and it was just a boring, long, only-text video made from powtoon.  This video had nothing that audiences can be attracted to. I don't recommend her project to be in the tech fair 2016.

Group 10: Nadia, Noaf, Lara, and Tanya
Their project was called the Fujifilm Polaroid Camera. In the presentation Noaf and Tanya were the only ones that were speaking confidently and Lara and Nadia seemed like they had no confidence in their work even though they said things like we used creativity and things. Their explanation of ingredients were very clear which was explained by Noaf. They were not well prepared. They had to ask the teacher if they could go at the end due to their poor organization skills. They might have had organization independently but they didn't have any organization at all as a group. Their promotional video was impossible to understand. They were taking selfies and they didn't explain about their project and teaching the audiences how it works. However I think their project is fine and could be in the tech fair 2016.

Date; Tuesday 15th March 2016

Group 11; Emma, Azahra
Their project was a game on a website called sploder. This website was the same one as Safa and Mille's group. They said their project was an improved version of Mario. Their project was kind of similar to Safa and Mille's group. In the power point presentation they explained Pros and Cons. They also said that game is to entertain people when they are bored. I think this is true. They could summarize the power point to not to make the audience feel bored. I think their project might be able to be in the tech fair 2016 but might be a competition between Safa and Mille's group and Emma and Azahra's group

Group 12; Abdullah, Ahmed
Their project was called FPS game. Their power point presentation was quite plain, and there were to much writing, and the color was only black and white, Me as an audience felt quite bored. At the same time there weren't enough information in the PPP. However I think their size of the letter in the PPP is good.  In the explanation, first of all, their voices were too small. However they have explained each point clearly. I think their project shouldn't be in the tech fair 2016.

reflection for tech fair

REFLECTION

What have I completed so far?
So far, I have completed all the tasks given. Right now, I'm working my actual project which is creating the website on weebly. I have completed my introduction on page and my planing is to create few websites for beginners, experienced ones, and experts.I am still on my introduction page where thing will be leading to. I'm going to make demonstration videos showing every step.

Challenges that I have faced?
The challenge that I have faced was that as I am not very good with computers, I had some troubles editing my website for example the background. I kept on deleting the whole pages and things.

What have I enjoyed?
I have enjoyed doing anything about this as knitting is my hobby. I know what kind of things I should do let people understand how to do this.

Improvements?
I think I can be better at preparation as I forgot my dictionary to use as I learnt every thing in Japanese.

Research on the projects criteria A

The recycling robot

The students named Jamal Dudley and Tariq Swell from Elizabeth Andrews High school in Stone Mountain has created a recycling robot. The reason for them to make this robot was their classroom bins. Tariq said that people in his class sometimes does not use the recycling bin correctly, and they felt that they want to do something about it. Tariq said that they have only taken 2 days to create and program this robot and said that they have used their time very effectively in order to do this. This has only used LEGO NXT mindstorm set up.

Jonathan Expose, a fourth-grader at DeKalb Academy of Technology and Environment, demonstrates a robot.
This is the recycling robot that they have made
I think this invention will benefit the society because this idea and project can reduce mistakenly put trashes and will be easier to recycle. In the future these robots will help human lives and to reduce those wrong trashes to be recycled.

If we have one of these in every classroom, every office, every house, I think it will be able to help our lives, our world and our earth.

Therefore, I think that these kind of robots will be very useful in the future. The technology is very important in our lives.

My research have gone quite successfully, I first searched up Tech fair project images and I searched tech fair projects images then i went to images on google. i found this image and visited this page. i found information there and wrote everything on above it was quite annoying that science projects came up at the same time.
